The team develops technologies to comprehensively analyze function and regulation of the genome, with particular emphasis on non-coding regions and with particular interest in non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) identification and comprehensively functional characterization. We develop technologies to explore regulatory interactions of ncRNAs within cells, with particular emphasis on the interaction of ncRNAs with chromatin, retrotransposition and ncRNAs having a role in the regulation of protein synthesis. Additional efforts are dedicated to standardize of transcriptome technologies like the cap-analysis gene expression (CAGE), which is essential for accurate quantitative applications, including identification of novel biomarkers and drug target candidates.
