RIKEN announced the winners of a set of prizes, the RIKEN EIHO Award (RIKEN Significant Achievement Award), and the RIKEN BAIHO Award (RIKEN Excellent Achievement Award). There are given to celebrate personnel who have made significant research achievements.

The RIKEN EIHO Award was honored to the following IMS researchers.

☆PASCARELLA Giovanni, Research scientist of the Laboratory for Transcriptome Technology
　"Recombination of repeat elements generates somatic complexity in human genomes"
☆FUJII Shin-ichiro, Team Leader of the Laboratory for Immunotherapy
　SHIMIZU Kanako, Senior Scientist of the Laboratory for Immunotherapy
　"Reinvigoration of immunity via therapeutic cellular vaccine"

The RIKEN BAIHO Award was honored to the following IMS researchers.

☆ISHIGAKI Kazuyoshi, Team Leader of the Laboratory for Human Immunogenetics
　NAKANO Masahiro, Postdoctoral Researcher of the Laboratory for Autoimmune Diseases
　"Distinct transcriptome architectures underlying lupus establishment and exacerbation"

RIKEN EIHO Award
The President of RIKEN awards this to individuals who have made "research and development achievements that are worthy of receiving a prominent or important award or that are highly anticipated to lead to such an award" or who have made "research and development achievements that have had a strong impact on society."

RIKEN BIHO Award
The President of RIKEN awards this to individuals who have made "original research and development achievements that are expected to be highly evaluated by academic societies" or who have "research support achievements that are recognized for their outstanding contributions beyond RIKEN."
