Dr. Michihhiro Kono, Postdoctoral Researcher of the Laboratory for Human Immunogenetics, received the ASHG 2023 Trainee Research Excellence Awards Postdoctoral Semifinalist.

The American Society of Human Genetics, ASHG, honors excellence in research conducted by predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees (including genetic counseling trainees) through merit-based awards that recognize highly competitive abstracts submitted and presented at the ASHG Annual Meeting.

Dr. Kono was awarded the prize for the abstract "Autoimmunity risk variants exert dynamic allelic effects on the chromatin accessibility of stimulated CD4+ T cells".
