Dr. Koji Atarashi, a senior researcher in the Laboratory for Gut Homeostasis, received the Japan Bifidus Foundation Research Encouragement Award for his research on the “The role of gut microbiota in the development and function of intestinal T cells”.

This award is given to a young researcher under the age of 40 whose research is highly expected to contribute to academic or industrial progress in the field of intestinal microbiology.
