RIKEN IMS Summer Program 2014

2014/6/20-27

RIKEN LGS
Program description
The RIKEN, Center for Integrative Medical Sciences (IMS), has been launched in Yokohama, Japan, since April 2013 by merging Research Center for Allergy and Immunology (RCAI) with the Center for Genomic Medicine (CGM). We are pleased to announce that we will hold the international summer program, maintaining the name RISP (RIKEN IMS Summer Program) for 2014, as it has been well recognized since 2006. We are accepting applications to our ninth Summer Program, which will be co-organized by Chiba University. This program aims to provide young scientists with the opportunity to learn about cutting-edge immunology research. The program will consist of lectures from internationally distinguished immunologists and presentations by each participant. It is open to both talented Ph.D. Students and young postdocs, with lodging and travel expenses fully covered.

Up to 40 participants will be invited to spend a week (from June 20 to June 27, 2014) at the RIKEN facilities in Yokohama, during which all members will also attend the IMS-JSI International Symposium on Immunology 2014. The Summer Program lecture course was developed to present both basic concepts and state-of-the-art research in order to promote better understanding of allergies and immunology.

Up to 4 participants from the Summer Program will remain for an additional month as RISP Interns. During this internship (from June 30 to July 25, 2014), interns will carry out research activities at laboratories following the lecture course.
