HKUST - RIKEN IMS Joint Symposium: Connecting Life Sciences: From Genomes to Systems Complexity is a joint symposium co-hosted by the HKUST Department of Life Science, the RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences (IMS). As a premier hub in Asia, HKUST drives excellence across genomics and biodiversity, mirroring RIKEN IMS's world-class focus on interdisciplinary and comprehensive approach to life and medical sciences encompassing immunology, genomics, and transcriptomics, structural biology and data science. 

The symposium aims to be a a vital catalyst for international networking, scientific exchange, and future cross-institutional collaborations between the two institutions. Speakers from both institutions as well as speakers from several Japanese universities will present on diverse topics such as Genome to Disease, Epigenetics and Phenotypes, Genome and Multi-omics, and Genome, Transposon, 3D-Chromatin bringing together latest expertise in their respective fields.  Ultimately, this event aims to foster research exchange, accelerate breakthroughs at the frontiers of life sciences, and establish robust pathways for long-term joint research ventures and global talent mobility between Japan and Hong Kong.
