Dr. Masaru Taniguchi, RIKEN Honorary Scientist, passed away due to illness on April 8, 2024, at the age of 83.

He served as the founding Director of the RIKEN Center for Allergy and Immunology (RCAI) for 12 years after his appointment in 2001.
